Sure! Here’s the summary:

In a lawless corner of space, seasoned Ranger Cole Butler is sent to investigate mysterious pirate activity—only to uncover a dark secret that could threaten the entire Steele Empire. Forced to partner with Wes Antrim, a brash young recruit with more guts than experience, Cole must survive ambushes, ancient tech, and ruthless enemies as they plunge deeper into uncharted space.

What did you love most about writing this book?

This was my first book, so I got to experience everything for the first time. But if I had to pick a favorite thing, I think it would have to be seeing this go from an idea in my head to an actual book on a shelf in a book store.

How did you start writing?

I originally started by writing serialized episodes on the now defunct Kindle Vella. Once it shutdown my encouraged me to take my stories and put them as novels.

Tell us a little bit about your self-publishing experience.

What a learning curve! I knew nothing about this whole self publishing world. I made a lot of dumb mistakes in the beginning. But now, four books in, I’m finally getting the hang of it.

What was your biggest challenge in bringing the book to market and how did you solve it?

Getting people to buy my book was the biggest challenge. My online sales were have always been mediocre. My local bookstore agreed to stock my book, and people started buying them. Then they asked about me doing a signing in their store. I sold a ton of books that day! So I have learned that in person events is where I am able to get my books into readers hands.

What's one piece of advice you have for other writers?

Write your story in your words. Don’t worry about other people, especially the ones who tell you have to do A, B, and C to publish a book. There is no one size fits all formula. Do your thing and find your niche.

Anything else you want folks to know?

I have two science-fiction books (one sci-fi western and one military sci-fi) and a historical fiction novella. But my passions is sci-fi westerns!
