Meet Rhyddwr, author of “Ginkgo”
Tell us what your book, “Ginkgo,” is about!
Sure! Here’s the summary:
Every time Halley’s Comet returns, the world has changed. Most of the people are gone, while the trees have gone on remembering in their own way.
What did you love most about writing this book?
Writing from the trees’ perspective. It let me move through centuries of human history without treating any single generation as the center of the world.
How did you start writing?
There was an old empty notebook when I was in primary school, so I started writing in it.
Tell us a little bit about your self-publishing experience.
So far, mostly forms. I wrote the books first; then I discovered that publishing them apparently requires filling out the internet.
What was your biggest challenge in bringing the book to market, and how did you solve it?
Figuring out everything that has nothing to do with writing: formatting, ISBNs, distribution, metadata, promotion, accounts, forms, and all the little systems in between. I solved it mostly by learning one unnecessary thing at a time
What's one piece of advice you have for other writers?
Write first. Think later.
Where can people find your book?
