What did you love most about writing this book?
I loved crafting Rowan's journey as a protagonist who cannot wield magic in a world that values magical ability above all else. The themes of belonging and transforming inherited pain resonated deeply with me as I wove a character-driven epic fantasy that challenges conventional fantasy tropes about power and destiny.
How did you start writing?
With 18 years of experience as a filmmaker, I transitioned into writing, drawing on years of visual storytelling, character development, and narrative structure from the film industry to create my novel.

I published WITHIN through Spines Publisher as an independent/self-published author. The Spanish edition, ADENTRO, is forthcoming. The book has 620 formatted pages and ISBN 9798906588838. An ARC is coming soon, with a release date yet to be confirmed.
What was your biggest challenge in bringing the book to market, and how did you solve it?
Bringing a 620-page epic fantasy to market required extensive coordination with Spine’s publisher for production and distribution. I also managed dual-language versions (English: WITHIN, Spanish: ADENTRO) and coordinated the upcoming ARC distribution to build buzz ahead of the release date.
What's one piece of advice you have for other writers?
Draw on your unique background and experiences. As a filmmaker who transitioned to writing, I found that my years of visual storytelling gave me a distinct advantage in developing compelling characters and scenes. Your different path is your strength.
